Where would you like to live?
There are many cities in Japan, where would you like to live? I live in Tokyo because my company is located in Tokyo, but with the recent increase in telework, I think it might be a good idea to live a little outside the city. Would you rather live in a big city or a small town?
LESSON6:It might be nice to live in Kamakura
Have you gotten used to life in Japan yet?
Nǐ xíguàn rìběn de shēnghuóle ma?
Nihon no seikatsu ni naremashita ka?
Yes, I’ve gotten used to it. But I’m still getting used to using Japanese.
Shì de, wǒ yǐjīng xíguànle. Dànshì, wǒ hái bù xíguàn shǐyòng rìyǔ.
Hai, mo naremashita. Demo, nihongo o tsukau koto wa mada narete imasen.
I’m sure you will get used to it. Please let me know if you have any questions. Do you have any problems now?
Wǒ xiāngxìn nǐ huì xíguàn de. Rúguǒ yǒu shé me xūyào, qǐng gàosù wǒ. Nǐ xiànzài yǒu shénme wèntí ma?

Thanks for your kindness! Actually, since telework has been increasing recently, I’m thinking of living in the suburbs. For example, how about Kamakura?
Xièxiè nǐ de hǎoyì! Wǒ xiǎng zhù zài jiāoqū, yīnwèi xiànzài yuǎnchéng bàngōng yuè lái yuè duō. Lìrú, liáncāng zěnme yàng?

Kamakura is one of my favorite towns in Japan. It’s close to the sea, has beautiful nature, and has many good cafes and historic temples. I think it would be very nice to live there!
Liáncāng shì wǒ zài rìběn zuì xǐhuān de chéngshì zhī yī. Nǎlǐ lí hǎi hěn jìn, zìrán fēngguāng yě hěn měi. Yǒu xǔduō hào chī de diàn hé lìshǐ yōujiǔ de sìmiào. Wǒ xiǎng, rúguǒ wǒ zhù zài nàlǐ, yīdìng huì fēicháng bàng!
Umi mo chikakute shizen mo kireidashi, oishī o mise ya, rekishi no aru otera mo ōidesu. Moshi sundara totemo sutekida to omoimasu!
Kamakura is a popular tourist destination
Kamakura is one hour from Tokyo by train. It is a popular tourist destination. Because of its many historic temples and the ocean, it is popular among men and women of all ages.
The photo below shows Engakuji Temple, a temple where Natsume Soseki, a great writer of the Meiji era (1868-1912), also visited.
In March, not only cherry blossoms but also magnolias and camellias were in beautiful bloom. There are also many fashionable cafes, so you can enjoy a variety of sweets while walking around town. I suggest you visit Komachi street first, and for meals, recommend Sho-jin cuisine (Buddhist vegetarian meal).
It’s also a memorable place where I experienced a broken heart when I was young. Now that those stories are long ago, it is still a wonderful town, and I would like to live there someday!
